About Us

The situation for an ever increasing number of people in Germany and alarmingly, many more daily here in Heidelberg.

As Christians, we are mandated to love all people, especially these - to treat them with respect and decency - to offer them hope, and to provide for their
spiritual and physical needs. Together with God’s grace and other Heidelberg organizations (Heidelberger Bündnis) we are accomplishing that and much more.

  • Every second and fourth Sunday of the month we hold a Gospel Service from 13:15-14:00 at Karl-Klotz-Haus (SKM), Kaiserstrasse 88-92 in Heidelberg.  Afterwards, from 14:00-16:00, a freshly prepared hot meal for 60-70 people is served.

  • Every Tuesday evening we meet from 19:00 until 21:00 for an unrestricted time of sharing called Plauderabend, Offering coffee, tea and small snacks, we afford all an opportunity to share their life problems or needs regardless of the size, and to be heard by people who care.  This evening has one set of rules:  “What you see  here, What you hear here,  When you leave  here, it stays  Here”. These rules allow people to remain anonymous and helps to establish honesty.  Relationships can be
built without fear of disclosure or ridicule and allows HOPE Ministry to offer insightful personal help to our less fortunate friends in need.

  • Our annual Gospel Festival, held on the 2nd Saturday of each September is one of our highlights. In addition to a gargantuan BBQ with coffee, cake, treats and live Praise & Worship music, lots of fun is enjoyed by all participants. Our most recent festival hosted approximately 200 to
    250 guests.

  • Another highlight is our annual Christmas dinner.  An open invitation to the homeless and socially weak draws an unprecedented gathering of folks who communally enjoy a luscious dinner and receive a small gift that meets a need in their daily lives.  But most of all, the spirit of unity and the understanding that one is not alone, are perhaps the greatest gifts our guests receive during this celebration.

First and foremost, the goal of our ministry is to invite people into the house of God (the church) so that they have the opportunity to hear His word and by faith establish a personal relationship with Him through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Needless to say, operating such a ministry with weekly, bi-weekly and annual events requires an enormous budget.  We continue to rely solely on the donations of loving supporters within our community. Any and all donations received are put to use strictly for the benefit of those souls God has charged us with and are deeply appreciated.  Every contribution is sorely needed and ultimately important to the continued success of H.O.P.E.

In His Word, God founded the principle of partnership with churches which extends today to ministries and Christian organizations. We therefore have a great opportunity to see the glory of God reflected through this ministry.  Precious seeds of all kinds have and will continue to be sown through support of H.O.P.E., which has been founded and established on the principle of Covenant Partnership. The Lord will honor your physical and financial support by effecting an abundant harvest for both you and those lives in need of HOPE.
